Life’s too short….

My heartfelt condolences to the 5 dragonboaters who lost their lifes in Cambodia.

A sport that unifies the brotherhood of a team so strongly can be so cruelly taken apart with such unprecedented twist of events. Being a ex-boater myself i can only imagine the immerse pain that the team was going through when one by one of the missing bodies are hauled up from the river.

This makes me kinda miss the good old days…..

 

 

 

Exams ended today for me but I’m not exactly on the high side though , the law paper totally owned me today. I will be crossing my fingers when December comes and the results are released.

Movies Galore

Alright, so i was browsing through GV’s webby and i came across quite a number of movies i’m keen on watching this coming holidays…..

THE TATTOOIST

This is a supernatural thriller, made by Singaporean and New Zealand co-production partners. Did i see Singapore? Its good to know Singaporeans are more involved in major films these days and besides, tattoos and chicks, what’s not to love?

 

GOOD LUCK CHUCK

So i read the synopsis and YES your typical boy breaks up with girl , girl gets engage to a new guy, boy regrets and blah blah blah. Highly predictable storyline i would say but it might be good for some heart-warming movie like this aside from all the blood and gory stuff that i’ve been watching. Besides , we all need a healthy dosage of Jessica Alba from time to time , that you have to agree =)

I AM LEGEND

So much hype about this movie and i’ve been seeing the trailer run all over the tv countless times. I have always been a fan of Will Smith and i expect a mindful of satisfaction when i step out of that cinema.

NATIONAL TREASURE : BOOK OF SECRETS

Every boys dream of looking for treasures , i’m going more for how they actually link all the clues together which can be quite mind blowing at times. Anyway, i caught the previous one and i thought for all the action you get, its well worth the money.

For a amazingly small room , its a wonder how much things we can put inside it. All we need is a toilet, more booze and we wont be stepping outside for a long long time….

I think I’ve been studying to a point of “ZHOU HUO RU MO” , i cant seem to sleep before 4am these days and its kinda taking its toll on me. 2 more days and things will be back to normal again, man am i happy to say ” i cant wait to take the exams” . Take care peeps

I’m taking a break from studying , my concentration level is at a all time LOW. Exams are quite tormenting you must agree with me , the longest few weeks you will experience throughout the entire year is here again and im not liking it! Oh well, its a love-hate relationship.

I’m gonna put up some random pictures that i found while browing through the lap-top. I cant really remember which day was it but i decided that the dog hole was far to filthy for human inhabitance one day and me and roomie decided to give the room a good wiping. If im not wrong the black thing is my rubbish bin and we had to use it to fill water because apparently some cheapo biatttch stole our toilet pail we left outside the room. To whoever you are, the pail is cursed and if you try using it you will lao sai non- stop for the next 6 months. Take that!

Hall supper on don’t know which day again ( seriously having STM ). Nat the superstar did alill performance during the event however apparently people are more interested with their Fillet-O-Fish then listening to him sing. Your’re better off at Mediacorp dude. HAHA!

Yesterday i was looking through my travelblog and it evoked many happy memories : Full-Moon Party , Chatuchak , Angor Wat , HCMC , Beaches of Nah Trang , Arty-Farty Hoi An , Halong Bay , Ice-cold Sapa….I have to go back to Koh Phan Ghan for another dosage of the wildest party in asia! ( and the f**king good buckets also =) )

My apologies to my friends who have past by this blog and wondering why the hell has there been no update for so darn long. Been busy for the past few weeks, project deadlines,mid-terms,work plus not really in the blogging spirit also..This is the final stretch,finals exams on the 14th nov – 26th nov and i will finally be done! and did i mention that i will be back in Hanoi for 10 days with THE GF for holidays, winter in vietnam is great =)

1 Semster gonna be over just like that, before you know it, i will be out of here in no time  =)

Notice for the biaaatch staying in Room 506 : Your freaking smelly underwear stech is going out of control . For jesus / tua pek gong / tu di gong gong / buddha / allah / krisna ‘s sake can you please wash your lingrie regularly . Your’re poullting the entire hall-way and making it smell like some worker’s quarter . I thought the maximum days you can wear your undies is 4 days , 1st day : front side , 2nd day : reverse side , 3rd day : fold it inside out front side , 4th day : fold it inside out reverse side . If your’re seriously lacking washing powder please come knocking on my door , i will be more then happy to provide you with a tub . I reckon the bitch who gave us the first warning for the ciggie smell should go over to your room and give you a yellow card for ur smelly undies smell also . Enough said .

Time Management

I had quite a fruitful week last week , managing to fish out time for my family , friends , homework and THE GF . Good time management i would say considering the fact that im a “attached / part-time tour guide / striving undergrad ”

Wednesday

So wednesday night me and dick decided to head on over to our ever so friendly neighbour country malaysia to have dinner and at the same time do abit bargain hunting . Crossing over the border was a brezze as you would expect on wednesday night itself , the only people moving in and out of singapore and malaysia will be the malaysians only , those who are actually working here . Point to note : you can literally smell it when you’re inside JB , even the air smells different or it might just be the freaking rubbish lying all over the shop . Anyways , by 730pm we were already wondering inside CITY SQUARE , supposedly the most happening shopping center in JB ( run down version of suntec ) . The plan was to get some cheap clothings but ended up buying some gadgets to zeng our lap top . Let me break it down for you how did my $40 = 88 Ringgit was spent :

• Lap top cooler    = 28 Ringgit
• Optical Mouse    = 20 Ringgit
• Groceries            = 18 Ringgit
• Dinner               = 11.5 Ringgit
• Supper               = 2.5 Ringgit
• Total                      80 Ringgit

*8 ringgit left to keep as souveniour *

                                                   

For poor undergrads out there , you are strongly advised to patronise JB once in 2 weeks , trust me you will feel 2 times richer , minimalistic damage done to your bank account and you will reap greater satisfactions when you set foot back in singapore .

Thursday

Thursdays are tutorial days so normally on wednesdays night i will still be scampering to complete my work especially for accounting , now so high tech , need to do all tutorial questions in excel format . Normally it wld have took me 2hrs to finish , now it takes 3hrs , 1 extra hour tap on the key pad , move my mouse around , wait for the lap top to load , occasion hangs and what not . The weekend started at 430pm sharp and caught the rat movie with baby after she finished her lessons . I fell dead asleep in the first part of the show , it was like some soap opera drama shit in the beginning but it got better when the rat starting cooking , i would say not too bad for a cartoon .

Friday

Back in the small little town of sengkang , feels good to be back home , has this less stressful aura about it as compared to the small lill corner i have back in NTU . Spent the early part of the day doing tutorials , projects and some readings  Dinner at night with the duck collegues , bad mouthing about how shitty the system has became and all the bo standard people coming in to work at ducktours . Oh well , as long as every month i still religiously get my pay cheque , it works for me. HAHAH!

Saturday

Visited my grandpa in the noon time and brought bernice along with me . Grandpas’ not doing too well , he looks like he has aged quite abit just barely 2 weeks since i last visited him .  The usual complains about boredom and aches doesnt seem that casual to me anymore . Growing old is just inevitable . ” So what if i struck 4D ? i wont have much time left anyways “…. This stuck with me throughout the entire weekend

On a lighter note , headed to orchard to walk around with THE GF and she manage to do a small damage at far east . Other then that orchard road is a serious NO NO on a saturday night , i swear that if i dont have anything important i shall not set foot there again on a weekend .

Sunday

Had a slack day at work with a total of 11 tours to split among 4 guides . I literally had time to hop on one of the buses and head down to orchard road to do some damage and come back in time for my next tour . It was one of the rare few times that i reach back home after work and the sun was still shinning , it felt quite good actually . Dinner at home , slack around abit and by mid night i was back at the lill corner in NTU .

So its a start of another week over here , i dont know is it me or what but time seems to fly by every single week . I’m thinking its because of the long weekends i have thats why it feels this way =)

                          

Lazy Wenesdays

I proclaim wednesday as my favourite day of the week in school . Why so ?  

•       Lesson ends at 1030am
•       Macdonalds still serving breakfast at that time
•       Plenty of time for afternoon nap
•       The only module that i find really intriguing is on for the day

( the only lesson that allows u to give such answers and genuinely be complimented for )

            

            Prof  :  ” So Yao Long , what do you think is the correct answer for Q1(b) “

             Me  :  ” Hmm……it depends… “

          Prof  :  ” Excellent answer , well done “

                

 ( point to note : for the previous 30 sec i was busy tapping away on the cell phone so i am totally oblivious to his qns )     

             

The lesson i had by the way was Business Law, one which has given me a whole new understanding towards the words maybe/hard to say/depends/could be . ” You can get your final answer wrong but you will still score A” , i like the sound of that. HAHA!

On another note , we had a surprised visit by the hall admin personnels to do some spot-checking on the individual dorms today and guess what ? We have to loose those communist flags on the wall and the poster of a half naked lady holding a pottery ( my roomie term it as “ART” ) . On top of those supposedly EXPLICIT items which is how they term it , we were issued with a first warning for the overwhelming ciggie smell in the room . Talk about first impressions 🙂 

Off to JB for dinner and some cheap bargain hunting . I hope i come back without getting robbed . HAHA!
